Q: Do you come into my home to groom my dog?
A: No, all grooming is done right in the van. The van is fully equipped with warm water, lights, an adjustable electric table and heat/AC.

Q: Do you use my electricity?
A: No. The grooming van has an inverter battery system that provides electricity to the entire salon.

Q: How do you get water?
A: The van has a 65 gallon fresh water tank with an electric water heater. Your pet will always be bathed in clean, warm water. There is a separate tank to hold the dirty water, we do not recycle water.

Q: Why do you charge more than my old groomer?
A: Mobile grooming is a premium service. In addition to the convenience, it allows the groomer to focus on personal care for your pet. I take a very limited number of appointments each day--less than I would be able to groom in a shop. I come to you and groom your pet straight-through. This is an extra “Express” service for most grooming shops. I use the highest quality of products and equipment for the best experience possible for your pet. Try mobile and see the difference for yourself.

Q: What's the best way to reach you?
A: Phone and e-mail are equally good ways to reach me. The business number is a cell phone that I carry at all times. Generally, you will get the voicemail because I don't answer the phone while driving or grooming a dog so please leave a detailed message. All e-mails and voicemails will be returned within 24 hours!

Q: How soon can I get an appointment?
A: Setting up an appointment can usually be arranged within a week or two after contacting MMPS. Occassionally there are openings sooner so it is best to call and leave a message. Appointments are available as early as 8 am and and as late as 4 pm. Weekend appointments are available, but on a limited basis as they are reserved for standing appointments. I strongly encourage setting up a schedule and pre-booking your appointments. Your pet is kept looking its best and you are assured the day/time that works best for you!

Q: Do I have to be home for the appointment?
A: First time customers must be present for the appointment. This is so I can meet you and your pet, answer any questions, and get detailed grooming instructions. After the first appointment, you do not have to be home. Arrangements can be made so that you can go to work and come home to a freshly groomed pet.

Q: Do you give a discount for multiple pets?
A: Yes, I discount $5 off for each pet at the same location. This is for multiple dog families who have their pets groomed at the same time.

Q: How often does my dog need to be groomed?
A: Most dogs need to be groomed about once a month. Short-haired dogs may be able to go 8-12 weeks between grooms, but we recommend monthly appointments if your goal is to minimize shedding. I do not do “once-a-year makeovers.” Dogs that only receive grooming once a year usually have resulting health problems that should be addressed by a vet. If your pet is in poor shape now, but your intent is to get them on a regular grooming schedule, please call to discuss this.

Q: How old should my puppy be for his first haircut?
A: It’s never too soon to have your puppy groomed. Grooming early and grooming often will help your puppy become more socialized and tolerant of all of life’s sensations. I suggest getting your puppy groomed to experience the bath, the dryer, and the clippers as soon as they’ve had their second round of puppy booster vaccinations-- usually around 10-12 weeks of age. Puppies may or may not need a hair cut the first time, but should get a bath and a nail trim for the practice! I will slowly introduce grooming to your puppy to teach him that grooming is not something to fear.
